The birch tree can grow up to 30 metres in height and is immediately recognisable with its black and white bark. It is a powerful tree, deeply rooted in the ground, can withstand storms and its wood is both sturdy and flexible. The birch blends perfectly into the landscape, but it is prominent too.

When Marcus Drapal’s grandfather began to devote himself to the precious power of nature, and to make it accessible to everyone in a manner that was straightforward and direct, the concepts of a healthy diet and ‘organic’ were completely unheard of.
Nobody had heard of detox, clean eating or superfoods. Yet DRAPAL products were widely recognised.
We might even say now that they were trendy before there even was any trend. We are however under no illusion; DRAPAL was never ‘in’. That doesn’t bother us one bit. Quite the contrary! We think that’s really great, because DRAPAL will then never be ‘out’ either.
Trends are short-lived; the hype vanishes as quickly as it arrived. Genuine quality remains.
The birch tree is highly prized by DRAPAL for other reasons too. Its leaves contain essential oils, iron, iodine and calcium, while its sap is helpful for rheumatism. We adore nettles too. And dandelion, mistletoe, watercress, garlic and celery. And sea buckthorn. You might even say that we like everything. After all, we know what they contain – and our extracts are carried out in the gentlest possible manner. High quality plants are hand-picked and cleaned with Untersberg spring water; after their dip in the stainless steel vat, some are wrapped in sheets – and hydraulically pressed.
By the by, a birch tree can easily live to 100. Maybe we can too – with the power of nature.
A DRAPAL plant extract keeps in the fridge for around a week. This sounds astonishing in these times of long shelf life foods. The take-over of ‘Dr. Hayek’s Pflanzensäfte’ and further expansion of our imported brand sector are just a few examples of his successful company management. In 2005 Marcus Drapal, the 3rd generation, took over the company and its management.
